Classic membership: plenty to do from day one
Classic membership is what every member has on joining, and it's a proper way in. You can build a full profile, add photos, browse members and get fresh match suggestions every day. Swipe through people when you have ten minutes to spare, post a status update or a photo of your own, comment on other members' posts and join in with polls and quizzes. It's a relaxed way to get talking without agonising over the perfect opening line.
As a Classic member you can send a limited number of messages a day, and whenever a VIP or VIP Plus member writes to you, you can open it and reply. Your allowance comes round again the next day, which suits an unhurried conversation.

A profile boost puts you in front of active members near you for a while, and a Super Match sends a highlighted message that your match sees before anything else. VIP Plus members buy both as add-ons.

Honesty pays off here. Say whether you'd like friendship, something long-term or a bit of both, and choose an age range that reflects who you'd really date. Mature Encounters is a smaller section, so a generous distance setting gives your matches more people to choose from.
Your details stay yours
- Your username, never your name
- Other members see the username you pick. Your real name and email address aren't shown on your profile.
- Your nearest town, never your address
- Profiles show a nearest town or city, so people can judge the distance without knowing where you live or where you are right now.
- Block anyone
- If a conversation stops feeling right, block the person and they can no longer contact you.
- Report anything
- Report a profile or a message from inside the site. Our safety advice explains the warning signs worth knowing.
Features and VIP: your questions
What can I do as a Classic member?
Plenty. You can make a profile, add photos, browse, swipe, get daily matches, post updates and send a limited number of messages each day. VIP adds unlimited messages, advanced search and the chat rooms when you want them.
What's the difference between VIP and VIP Plus?
VIP gives you unlimited messages, advanced search, chat rooms, private group chats, swipe rewinds and a view of who likes you. VIP Plus includes all of that, adds exclusive matches and puts your messages, your likes and your profile first in line.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Mature Encounters runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
Can I change my mind about someone I swiped past?
With VIP, yes. Rewind the swipe and you're back on the profile you passed, ready to say hello after all.
